Program Cancellation Policy

When Montgomery County Recreation needs to close or cancel programs due to inclement weather or other safety-related circumstances for participants and staff, the first notification will be made through Montgomery County’s emergency notification system, Alert Montgomery. This invaluable service provides accurate and immediate emergency notifications from Montgomery County to your cell, work, or home phone, via text, email, or voice message.

In the event of a 2-hour delay, any class scheduled before 9:30 am will be canceled. For example, classes at 7:30 am, 8:30 am, and 9:00 am will not be held. However, if a class is scheduled for 9:30 am, it will occur on time.

Given that both participants and employees may travel considerable distances and weather conditions can vary significantly across the county, residents are advised to prioritize personal safety and exercise caution.
